We did it again! For the third year running, Wines from Rioja’s flagship event brought the Spanish vibe to London’s Southbank. Holding an event on the same weekend as Glastonbury and during Wimbledon is inviting a washout, but for the past three years we’ve had a sunny slice of Spain in London.
With the weather topping 30˚C and the all-new venue next to iconic Tower Bridge giving a green festival feeling, over 20,000 visitors joined us to sample more than 140 Rioja wines and tapas from 12 top Spanish restaurants.
A vibrant atmosphere was guaranteed with live music, cookery demos and wine seminars with Olly Smith and Susy Atkins, and Spanish success at a certain football tournament raised the roof on Friday night.
Bright, colourful and entertaining whilst subtly educating, Wines from Rioja is definitely onto a winner. With happy visitors, happy exhibitors and a very happy client, Tapas Fantasticas 2011 is a certainty. See you there?
